Carroll Spinney 50th

Carroll Spinney wraps up 50 years as the preformer for Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, and others from Sesame Street. As far back as I can remember, “Follow That Bird”, the first Sesame Street movie, was also possiblity literally the first movie I ever saw. Heck, I feel like I saw it before I ever watched an episode of Sesame Street! So, needless to say, Big Bird is one of my many earliest memories. Happy retirement Mr. Spinney!

Follow That Bird (1985)

Tasmanian Tiger

LA Zoo’s post today inspired me to draw this unique character. 82 years ago today, “Benjamin” the last known Tasmanian Tiger died in captivity. Also known as the Thylacine, it was officially declared extinct in 1986. There have been rumors and sightings of some in the wild, but none have been confirmed. It’s kinda fun to imagine a mysterious animal trying to make a comeback in secret!

We finished Disenchantment a little while ago and this new Netflix show is really fun! I’ll admit the first episodes seem very slow, but the last half brings the A-Game! Because it’s a fantasy genre, it’s much more of a story based comedy series compared to contemporary Simpsons and Futurama. Bring on season 2!
